
Julia started ballet at the age of four and moved into jazz, tap, ballroom, rock'n roll and dirty dancing…it was the trend in the 80's and she's pleased it seems to be making a comeback!!!! Julia worked with a dance troupe that performed around various Sydney and Coastal night clubs. After having her three active little boys she decided to focus on acting and singing.
Julia has recently completed an Open Program course in Musicals at NIDA and has vocal tuition at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre. Some of Julia's musical credits include: Sound of Music, Little Shop of Horrors, Claire Bubbles-a lot in Soap Street, Sarah Brown in Guys & Dolls her favourite role to date, Velma Kelly in Chicago.
She performed in both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympic Games and most recently appeared in the 2005 Sydney Festival's production of The Lazy Kings.
Julia is currently in rehearsals for Closer Than Ever which was created by the award-winning duo of Maltby and Shire. Every song in this highly-acclaimed off-Broadway musical revue tells an intimate, insightful story of relationships in the modern world. Closer Than Ever will be performed at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre on 28, 29 & 30 April and 5, 6 & 7 May. All profits from the show will be donated to the Allan Mullins Scholarship Fund which financially assists local performers.
